ToggleThe highly anticipated OnePlus 13 series has officially launched, bringing with it a host of innovative AI features, robust specifications, a striking new design, and advanced camera technology. This new lineup includes two impressive models: the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus 13R. Notably, this series marks a significant milestone as the first in India to integrate 5.5G technology, achieved through a partnership with Jio.
Also referred to as 5G Advanced, 5.5G represents an enhanced version of 5G technology, delivering superior data speeds, minimal latency, greater network reliability, expanded connectivity, and intelligent features. This technology began its rollout with 3GPP Release 18 and will continue to evolve, with further advancements anticipated through Release 21, expected to arrive by 2028, according to insights from Ericsson.
According to the company, this cutting-edge connectivity option allows both the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R to link with three distinct network cells, ideally sourced from multiple towers. This capability results in faster, more dependable connectivity, translating to quicker data speeds and timely updates, including notifications.
At the Winter launch event, OnePlus demonstrated this innovative technology compared to traditional 5G networks. Utilizing Jio’s 5G-Advanced 3CC network (powered by 5.5G), the devices achieved an impressive data speed of 1,014.86 Mbps, clearly highlighting its superiority over standard 5G offerings.
In a groundbreaking development, the OnePlus 13R has been recognized as the world’s first smartphone to support 5.5G in India, thanks to the collaboration with Jio. This advancement is a significant leap toward providing faster, next-gen connectivity to users in India. The enhanced stability of 5.5G networks is particularly beneficial in environments where connectivity often falters, such as parking lots, elevators, and packed venues like cricket stadiums.
In terms of pricing, the OnePlus 13 starts at Rs 69,999, climbing to Rs 89,999 for the high-end 24GB+1TB version. Conversely, the OnePlus 13R starts at a more accessible price of Rs 42,999, with the maximum configuration priced at Rs 49,999. In addition, customers can take advantage of exclusive bank offers and exchange bonuses, further reducing the overall cost of these powerful devices.
