ToggleLast night, Samsung held its much-anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, where it introduced the new Galaxy S25 series. This series comprises three models: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, the highlight of the evening was a surprise teaser for the Galaxy S25 Edge, a model that had previously been rumored as the Galaxy S25 Slim.
The Galaxy S25 Edge was briefly displayed onstage and visible on the event floor, granting attendees a sneak peek into its elegant and thin design. The device boasts flat edges, a flat display, and a dual-camera setup on the rear, setting it apart from the other models in the Galaxy S25 lineup. Unfortunately, Samsung chose not to disclose any concrete details regarding its specifications, pricing, or availability during the event.

A representative from Samsung South Africa has provided some insight into the availability of the Galaxy S25 Edge. According to them, the Slim model, now confirmed to be the S25 Edge, won’t be available initially in South Africa. Instead, it will launch in select markets such as the United States and South Korea.
“We will have the Ultra, the Plus, and the base model available in South Africa. However, the Slim model won’t be available here initially. It will be released in select markets,” the representative stated in the report.
Although a complete list of the regions for the phone’s launch has not yet been released, it appears that there will be a phased rollout for the Galaxy S25 Edge, suggesting that fans in other markets might see the device becoming available in subsequent releases.

While Samsung is yet to confirm specific specifications, leaks indicate that the Galaxy S25 Edge could measure just 6.4mm thick, positioning it as one of the slimmest devices in the Galaxy lineup. It is rumored to offer a battery capacity ranging from 3,000mAh to 4,000mAh and feature a stunning 200MP main camera, coupled with a thinner periscope camera module.
Although there is no official release date as of now, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to make its debut a few months after the initial Samsung Galaxy S25 series models are launched.
