ToggleSamsung is making bold strides to challenge Apple’s Vision Pro in the mixed reality (MR) headset market. The company’s answer comes in the form of Project Moohan — an extended reality (XR) headset that was initially teased last December and briefly showcased during the Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025 held in San Jose. However, details surrounding the device remained scarce at that time.
At the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, Samsung has taken the opportunity to fully unveil its Android XR headset. The company positions this device as a significant advancement in technology that marries multimodal artificial intelligence with extended reality. This innovation aims to create richer, more engaging experiences for users in their daily routines.
The name “Project Moohan,” which translates to “infinity” in Korean, was first presented to developers in a specialized kit in mid-December. It was indicated that the device would roll out for consumer availability sometime in 2025. The recent unveiling at MWC represents a significant progression towards that goal, although Samsung has yet to disclose any specifics regarding the potential pricing or launch timeline.
From the limited information currently available, it’s known that the headset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor and includes an external battery option, which can support larger power sources through USB-C. Prior to this public unveiling, select partners were granted early access to the device to facilitate application development, with additional developers receiving units in late December.
In addition to the Project Moohan headset, Samsung’s Galaxy AI booth at MWC also highlighted the newly released Galaxy S25 series and the second-generation Smart Ring. Alongside these, the eagerly awaited Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was showcased — a sleek and lightweight smartphone that marks Samsung’s efforts in the premium segment.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge is anticipated to directly compete with Apple’s recently launched iPhone 16E. Although Samsung displayed several units of this new smartphone at MWC, details concerning its pricing or availability remain undisclosed.
