Following the recent launch of its flagship S25 series, Samsung is shifting focus towards its much-anticipated foldable smartphone lineup, which includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. If the company sticks to its historical release timeline, these impressive devices are expected to debut during the Unpacked event in July 2025. However, Samsung has yet to officially announce the specific launch date. Among these two noteworthy releases, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is stirring up considerable excitement due to speculation surrounding its enhanced display size, refined aesthetics, and upgraded camera specifications. Let’s delve deeper into what we can expect from this innovative device.
If the current leaks hold any truth, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is projected to be thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When fully unfolded, the phone may measure around 4.5mm in thickness, while the folded form could reach 9.5mm, marking a reduction in dimensions over its predecessor. Although it may not claim the title of the thinnest foldable smartphone available, it does surpass the previous generation in terms of sleekness. Design-wise, it is likely to maintain a similar aesthetic as its predecessor but with slight refinements that make it more appealing.
In addition to its slim profile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rumored to feature a large 8.2-inch inner AMOLED display, complemented by a 6.5-inch outer AMOLED panel. Under the hood, the device is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering significant performance enhancements, along with an option to choose up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage to accommodate users’ needs.
When it comes to photography, the foldable model is likely to house a formidable 200-megapixel main camera, accompanied by a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 10-megapixel telephoto sensor. In terms of selfie capabilities, a 10-megapixel front camera and a sophisticated 4-megapixel under-display camera for the inner screen are also anticipated.
To support these impressive features, the device is likely to be equipped with a 4,400mAh battery, mirroring the capacity found in the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to ensure longevity throughout the day.
As for pricing, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to make its debut in India at a competitive price point, likely under Rs 1,70,000. According to various reports, it could be available starting at Rs 1,64,999, which positions it as an appealing option amidst the premium foldable segment.
