ToggleOnePlus has officially unveiled its much-anticipated OnePlus 13 series in India, which includes the flagship OnePlus 13 along with the OnePlus 13R. The OnePlus 13 makes a significant leap with its advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, introducing various enhancements compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 12. Not only have the actual specifications been upgraded, but the pricing strategy has also seen a shift. The OnePlus 13 is priced starting at Rs 69,999 in India; however, it is currently available for an introductory price of Rs 64,999 due to a launch discount. In comparison, the OnePlus 12 was launched last year at a price point of Rs 64,999, which indicates a price increase of Rs 5,000 for this year’s model.
The following section will delve into the specifications of both models.
The first noticeable difference is the design. The OnePlus 13 features a contemporary look with a more angular and boxy frame, a departure from the rounded design language of the OnePlus 12. Additionally, OnePlus has managed to decrease the overall weight and thickness of the OnePlus 13, while also enhancing its durability with an IP68/69 rating, an improvement over the IP65 rating of the OnePlus 12.
Both devices boast a 6.82-inch QHD+ display that caters to high-performance gaming and media consumption with a smooth refresh rate of up to 120Hz. What sets them apart, however, is the display technology employed. The OnePlus 13 showcases an OLED panel, whereas the OnePlus 12 comes equipped with an AMOLED panel. Despite both displays reaching peak brightness levels of up to 4500 nits, the OnePlus 13’s panel introduces several advanced features including Ultra HDR image support, HDR Vivid, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and 10-bit color depth. In contrast, the OnePlus 12 lacks Ultra HDR image and HDR Vivid functionalities.
In terms of processing power, the OnePlus 13 is fueled by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, offering configurations of up to 24GB RAM and a generous 1TB storage option. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 12 operates on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, offering a maximum of 16GB RAM while also supporting up to 1TB storage.
When it comes to photography, the OnePlus 13 elevates the experience with a robust 50-megapixel triple camera arrangement, including a primary lens, a periscope telephoto sensor equipped with 3x optical zoom, and an ultrawide lens. The OnePlus 12, on the other hand, features a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens. Both devices share a front-facing 32-megapixel camera for stunning selfies.
Finally, battery life and charging capabilities exhibit significant advancements. The OnePlus 13 packs a hefty 6000mAh battery and supports impressive fast charging at 100 watts, alongside 50-watt wireless charging and even 10-watt reverse wireless charging capabilities. The OnePlus 12, while still formidable, houses a 5400mAh battery with the same 100-watt fast charging and 50-watt wireless charging features, complemented by reverse wireless charging at 10 watts as well.
