ToggleThe excitement around Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is palpable as we inch closer to its expected launch in September 2025. This new lineup is anticipated to introduce notable shifts in design, technical performance, and enhancements to camera capabilities. A particularly thrilling advancement involves Apple’s potential transition to proprietary WiFi chips, which could improve connectivity among its gadget ecosystem.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a highly regarded analyst, has recently disclosed on X that Apple plans to swap out third-party WiFi chips in favor of its custom-designed alternatives. Kuo asserts that every model in the iPhone 17 range will come equipped with Apple’s exclusively designed WiFi chips.
“In the aftermath of Qualcomm, Apple is now set to swiftly replace Broadcom’s WiFi chips with its proprietary variants. According to my latest industry insights, all new iPhone 17 models set to release in the second half of 2025 will feature these in-house WiFi chips, diverging from the earlier plans where only the streamlined iPhone 17 would adopt Apple’s C1 modem chip. This strategic shift not only promises reduced costs but also seeks to bolster connectivity across Apple’s range of devices,” Kuo noted on X.
Now, let’s explore what else is on the horizon for the iPhone 17 series.
In India, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to launch at roughly Rs 79,900, while the iPhone 17 Air is projected to be priced at around Rs 89,900. The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to attain a price point of Rs 1,20,000, whereas the luxurious iPhone 17 Pro Max could command a hefty Rs 1,45,000.
