Apple has provided confirmation regarding the rollout of iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4, which is scheduled to take place in April 2025. This significant update aims to incorporate several new functionalities that will enhance user experience. Among the noteworthy features, we can expect the all-new Apple News+ Food, which is likely to provide curated cooking content, along with smarter notifications that leverage advanced AI. Enhanced music features will also be part of this update, making it easier for users to enjoy their preferred tunes. Furthermore, users located in the European Union will benefit from the ability to set default apps for maps and translation services. Although the developer beta version is currently accessible, the stable release for all supported devices is expected next month.
While Apple has not provided a specific release date for the iOS 18.4 update in India, it is anticipated to be available around April 15, 2025. This update is set to introduce a variety of advanced features, including enhancements to the Apple Intelligence capabilities that users in India can look forward to utilizing.
In addition to enhancing the user experience, support for multiple languages in Apple Intelligence will also see improvements. The new update will support French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and simplified Chinese right from the start. Other languages, such as English (specific dialects), Italian, Korean, Portuguese, and Vietnamese, will be gradually rolled out throughout 2025.
The upcoming iOS 18.4 will be compatible with a wide range of iPhone models, including the iPhone 16 series, iPhone 15 series, iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13 series, iPhone 12 series, iPhone 11 series, as well as older models like the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, and iPhone SE (2nd & 3rd generation).
However, it is important to note that some of the new Apple Intelligence features will only be accessible on the more advanced models, specifically the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series.
Once the iOS 18.4 update is released, users can easily download it by following a few straightforward steps. Navigate to the Settings menu, then select General and choose Software Update. For those with automatic updates turned on, the installation will occur automatically during the night while the device is charging, ensuring a hassle-free update process.

One of the standout features making its debut in iOS 18.4 is the Apple News+ Food segment, designed specifically for subscribers. This new addition is expected to feature thousands of recipes from renowned sources like Bon Appétit and Allrecipes, alongside insightful food narratives, nutritional advice, and an innovative cooking mode.
Furthermore, the update will introduce Priority Notifications, a feature utilizing Apple Intelligence to ensure that critical alerts are visibly highlighted on the Lock Screen. However, it should be noted that this particular feature will be exclusive to the latest devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 series.
Lastly, enhancing the music experience, Apple will introduce Ambient Music in the Control Center. This feature will allow users to access curated music tracks quickly across four themed categories: Sleep, Chill, Productivity, and Wellbeing, ensuring a personalized auditory experience tailored to their needs.
