One UI 7

HIGHLIGHTS

Samsung has resumed the distribution of the One UI 7.0 update, which is based on Android 15, for its Galaxy S24 lineup.

The update was halted recently due to the emergence of a critical bug in the initial firmware.

Samsung has addressed the problem and is now rolling out a revised firmware version.

Samsung has officially revived the rollout of the One UI 7.0 update for its Galaxy S24 series, which includes the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra models. A few days ago, this update was temporarily suspended after a significant bug was detected in the initial version of the firmware. Fortunately, Samsung has resolved the issue and is currently distributing a new firmware update.

As reported by SamMobile, the updated firmware is currently being made available in South Korea, which is Samsung’s home market. However, the rollout to other regions is anticipated to happen shortly. Users can identify the new version by checking for the build number S928NKSU4BYD9 on their devices.

For those who haven’t yet updated their devices, it’s advisable to temporarily disable any form of lock screen security, such as PINs, patterns, or fingerprint recognition, before proceeding with the update installation. This is mainly a precautionary measure since the previous issue was likely linked to lock screen protections. Despite the new update being stable, it’s always wise to exercise caution.

It’s still uncertain whether users who already installed the initial problematic version will be eligible to receive this newly fixed update.

With this resumption of the rollout, Samsung is likely to accelerate the distribution process and aim to meet its promise of extending One UI 7 to a broader array of devices by the end of the month.

If you own a Galaxy S24 series device, you will receive a notification once the update is available for your model. However, if you’re eager and prefer not to wait, you can manually check for updates by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The One UI 7 update is set to introduce a wealth of new features and enhancements for an enriched user experience, making it a highly anticipated update for Galaxy S24 owners.
