ChatGPT, a highly popular AI tool developed by OpenAI, is currently inaccessible for many users worldwide. Numerous individuals have taken to X to express their frustrations about the service being down. The reports suggest that this disruption is widespread, with complaints pouring in from various regions. Reports indicate that the outage is recent, and many are experiencing difficulties not only in getting responses from ChatGPT but also in logging into their accounts. Downdetector has confirmed that thousands of users are reporting issues with the service. Unfortunately, OpenAI has not provided any information regarding the cause of the outage or its extent at this time.

Among the many AI assistants available, ChatGPT remains one of the frontrunners in popularity and usage. Although the specific scale of the current outage is still unclear, it is likely to have impacted a significant number of users. In our own office, several team members have shared their frustrations over the inability of the platform to function properly. Downdetector has shown a noticeable spike in reports starting around 9:19 AM, indicating that the situation is worsening as more users voice their concerns.

This is not the first incident of service disruption for ChatGPT. A similar outage occurred back in December, which was acknowledged by OpenAI. Given that the current issue is still unfolding, we are yet to receive any official comments from the company regarding this particular situation.

One user expressed, “I actually love Twitter because whenever I think it’s just me facing an issue, I come here and find numerous others in the same boat. So I can confirm that ChatGPT is down.”

Users from regions like India are particularly feeling the heat, as many were in the midst of their workday. One frustrated user posted, “ChatGPT is down… I thought it might have finally gotten tired of my complaints OMG ???”
