ToggleIn a significant move, Apple has rolled out the highly anticipated iPhone 16e, which occupies a position below the premium iPhone 16 series. Following its launch, Apple has decided to discontinue several models, including the iPhone SE (2022 edition). Notably, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are also set to be removed from the Apple Store, but consumers can still find these models through third-party sellers such as Amazon and Flipkart.
Reports suggest that this strategic decision may have been influenced by Apple’s commitment to adhere to new European Union regulations mandating the sale of products that utilize USB Type-C ports. However, there may be additional factors contributing to this choice.
The iPhone 16e marks the official upgrade to the iPhone SE 3 and is packed with significant improvements. One of the standout features is the large 6.1-inch OLED display that offers enhanced brightness, reaching up to 1200 nits, in contrast to the older 4.7-inch screen in the SE model. Furthermore, the new device is powered by the advanced A18 Bionic chip, moving away from the A15 Bionic chipset found in its predecessor. It also offers double the RAM and storage options, catering to users’ growing demands for performance and capacity.

When it comes to photography capabilities, the iPhone 16e does not disappoint. It sports a 48MP main camera, a remarkable upgrade from the 12MP lens found on the previous SE model. Alongside this, the device is equipped with Apple’s own C1 5G modem, supports USB Type-C, and has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, making it a versatile option for various environments.
On the topic of the iPhone 14 Plus, reports indicate that the device has been experiencing lower sales figures, which has led Apple to halt its production. This decline in sales is likely a contributing factor to its removal from the official platform.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 16e is priced starting at Rs 59,900, a figure that may overlap with the pricing of the iPhone 14, which has also been withdrawn from the official Apple website. Although the iPhone 14 is no longer directly available from Apple, customers can still purchase it through various retail partners.
