This highly awaited smartphone will make its debut in China on February 27, with an international release scheduled for March 2, 2025, during the prestigious Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, Spain. We expect the Indian launch to occur around the same time. Leading up to its official debut, numerous rumors and speculations have circulated, giving us insights into the anticipated features and specifications of this flagship phone. Let’s delve into what we can expect from the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.
At the forefront of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is its camera system, which is likely to be a major attraction for photography enthusiasts. The smartphone is set to feature a cutting-edge quad-camera setup that includes a jaw-dropping 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. This lens is expected to utilize an f/2.6 ultra-wide aperture coupled with a sizable 1/1.4-inch sensor, providing an equivalent focal length of 100mm. Similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the lenses for this model are anticipated to be co-engineered in collaboration with the renowned optical brand Leica. This partnership is expected to bring about the introduction of Xiaomi’s innovative Summicron Ultra-Pure Optical System, which aims to deliver exceptional clarity, particularly in low-light conditions.
On the design front, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is said to incorporate a stylish dual-tone finish, combining glass and vegan leather elements. The rear of the device is likely to showcase a circular camera module that hosts four distinct sensors, complemented by an LED flash strip and striking italicized ‘Ultra’ branding—a nod to the classic aesthetics of Leica cameras. In terms of battery life, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to come equipped with a robust 6,100mAh battery, supporting 90W wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging options.
Regarding pricing, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to launch in China at a starting price of CNY 6,499, which translates to approximately Rs 78,000 or around $892. While the price for India is still shrouded in speculation, it’s worth noting that its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, was launched at Rs 99,999 for the variant featuring 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage. Thus, we can anticipate that the pricing for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be relatively similar to that of its predecessor.
