Prime Minister Narendra Modi has undertaken a significant initiative to celebrate women’s achievements by transferring his social media accounts to a group of remarkable women from various disciplines.

In a video posted on X, PM Modi expressed his admiration for “Nari Shakti” and reiterated his dedication to women’s empowerment through several government initiatives.

One of the selected women who will be managing the Prime Minister’s social media accounts is the renowned Chess Grandmaster Vaishali.

International Women’s Day serves as a vital occasion to recognize and celebrate the resilience, accomplishments, and invaluable contributions of women worldwide. In an effort to honor this spirit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made an impactful decision by passing the reins of his social media accounts to a diverse group of remarkable women. This gesture underscores the government’s persistent commitment to enhancing the status and opportunities of women across India.

In a heartfelt video shared on X, PM Modi voiced his admiration for “Nari Shakti,” emphasizing the ongoing support from his government towards women’s empowerment through a range of schemes and initiatives. He stated, “As we celebrate #WomensDay, we pay our respects to the incredible spirit of Nari Shakti! My government has consistently championed women’s empowerment, as evident in our various initiatives. Today, in line with that commitment, I am handing over my social media platforms to outstanding women who are making strides in their respective fields.”

Among those honored to manage the Prime Minister’s social media accounts is Chess Grandmaster Vaishali, who recently secured victory at the Women’s Grand Swiss Tournament of 2023. Vaishali is not only renowned for her achievements in chess but is also the older sister of the young chess phenomenon, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa. Her involvement further exemplifies the rising representation of women in competitive sports.

“Hello, I am @chessvaishali, and it gives me immense pleasure to take over the social media accounts of our honorable PM Thiru @narendramodi Ji, especially on this momentous #WomensDay. As many may know, chess is my passion, and I feel honored to represent India on various international platforms,” she shared from PM Modi’s X account.

Vaishali also took the opportunity to encourage families to support their daughters in sports, acknowledging the strides India has made in promoting female athletes and fostering a culture of sportsmanship.

Additionally, prominent women such as nuclear scientist Elina Mishra from Bhubaneswar and space scientist Shilpi Soni from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, also took the reins of PM Modi’s social media accounts for the day. “Our call to action is clear: India is a dynamic hub for scientific pursuits, and we urge more women to embark on this exciting journey,” they collectively posted.

Entrepreneur Anita Devi from Nalanda, Bihar, was another notable figure who managed the Prime Minister’s social media. She established her venture, Madhopur Farmers Producer Company Limited, nearly a decade ago, focusing on women’s empowerment through job creation.

“I am proud to have paved a path not just for myself but also for countless women, offering them employment opportunities that foster self-reliance. Our company also assists farmers by providing essential resources like fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides at reasonable prices,” she elaborated.

This remarkable initiative by Prime Minister Modi not only celebrates the spirit of women through their achievements but also serves as a rallying point for broader societal support towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.
