HIGHLIGHTS

The rollout of One UI 7, based on Android 15, is scheduled to commence in phases from April 2025.

The Galaxy S24 series will be the first to receive this update in April.

This update introduces new AI capabilities, design enhancements, and an expanded range of customization options.

Samsung has officially announced that the One UI 7 update, which is rooted in Android 15, will begin its rollout next month for several models. Among these are the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. As detailed in a recent blog post by the company, users can look forward to the One UI 7 beta being made available for their devices starting this week, while the full public update will begin rolling out in April through a phased approach.

Interestingly, a few recently launched Samsung smartphones, including those from the Galaxy A series and the Galaxy S25 series, have already been equipped with the Android 15 update. In contrast, users of some older generation devices have been left waiting for these public updates for several months.

Until recently, sign-ups for the Android 15-based One UI 7 beta were exclusively available to users of the Galaxy S24 series through the Samsung Members app. The company has rolled out four beta updates thus far, indicating that it wants to ensure all aspects of the update are meticulously polished before releasing it publicly.

Generally, Samsung tends to introduce its new One UI updates approximately one to three months after Google releases a new Android version. For instance, the company launched its first update for Android 14 on October 30, 2023, which was less than a month after Google released it for its Pixel devices.

This year, however, Samsung is facing unanticipated delays. The initial beta update for the Galaxy S24 series did not arrive until the latter half of December. While these delays were somewhat surprising, they were also somewhat foreseeable due to the significant nature of the One UI 7 update. This substantial update will incorporate numerous new AI features, including Now Brief, along with various design tweaks and more personalized customization options for users.

Starting this week, users of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Tab S10+, Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, Galaxy A55, Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra can begin signing up for the One UI 7 beta program through the Members app, albeit in a phased manner. However, it’s important to note that the stable version of the One UI 7 update for these devices may take slightly over a month to become available.

Timeline for the One UI 7 Update Rollout:

Leaked information suggests that the Galaxy S24 Series is set to receive the update on April 18, 2025, followed by the Galaxy S23 Series, which is expected to get it on April 25, 2025. Users of the Galaxy S22 Series and the Galaxy S23 FE can anticipate receiving the update around May 16, 2025, while the Galaxy S21 Series is projected to see the update rollout on May 23, 2025.
