ToggleNothing has been generating excitement around its upcoming Phone 3(a) series for several days, and at the ongoing Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, the London-based tech innovator has officially revealed both models. Co-founder of Nothing and newly-appointed president for India, Akis Evangelidis, presented the Phone 3(a) and Phone 3(a) Pro at the Qualcomm booth, capturing the attention of attendees.
It’s now officially confirmed that these two mid-range smartphones will make their debut on March 4, aligning with the second day of MWC 2025 happening in Barcelona. However, they were displayed under glass, which prevented a hands-on experience, and, as such, it’s challenging to provide in-depth commentary on the devices just yet.
The design of the 3(a) has been refined compared to its predecessor, the Phone 2(a), showcasing a more pronounced camera module. Conversely, the 3(a) Pro opts for a more unconventional design with a striking asymmetrical camera layout that is sure to turn heads. Much like prior Nothing models, the aesthetics of these phones might provoke a range of opinions among consumers.
During the presentation, Akis confirmed that both models will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. This marks a significant shift from last year’s Phone 2(a), which surprised many due to its inclusion of a MediaTek processor. Additionally, the Phone 3(a) Pro will debut Nothing’s first-ever Periscope Telephoto sensor, likely serving as a major distinction between the two models.
The camera technology promises impressive capabilities, supporting 3x optical zoom, 6x in-sensor zoom, and a remarkable 60x “ultra zoom.” Moreover, users can look forward to 4K video recording and Ultra HDR photography enhancements.
Moreover, Nothing has hinted at the introduction of a feature called Essential Space, designed to function as a ‘second memory’ utilizing artificial intelligence. There are also murmurs regarding the potential inclusion of a dedicated camera button, which would enhance user experiences for photography enthusiasts.
Both the Phone 3(a) and 3(a) Pro will be available in India concurrently with their release in other global markets, ensuring that fans and tech enthusiasts alike will have early access to the exciting new specifications and features these models are set to offer.
