Carl Pei’s pioneering smartphone brand, Nothing, is on the verge of unveiling a new smartphone series set for launch on March 4, 2025. This new series will encompass two models: the standard Nothing Phone 3a and its more advanced counterpart, the Nothing Phone 3a Pro.

A point of curiosity this time around is the absence of a “Plus” variant, leading to questions over whether the Phone 3a Pro serves as a continuation of the Nothing Phone 2a Plus or if the Plus lineup will persist as a separate series. As we near the launch, the company has been actively teasing features and specifications of the Nothing Phone 3a, while various online leaks and rumors have further stirred interest. Expected Specifications of the Nothing Phone 3a

On the design aspect, the Nothing Phone 3a is rumored to come equipped with a new button that mimics the functionality of the iPhone’s action button. Furthermore, the Phone 3a is anticipated to boast a massive 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, with a refresh rate that can reach up to 120Hz. This would make it the largest device that Nothing has rolled out to date.

In a significant shift, the company has confirmed that its upcoming phones will utilize Qualcomm chipsets, departing from the MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro and 7350 Pro chipsets seen in the previous generation. According to CEO Carl Pei, the Snapdragon chipset featured in the Phone 3a series is expected to deliver an impressive 25% boost in CPU performance along with a 72% enhancement in Neural Processing Unit (NPU) speed compared to the Phone 2a Plus. While the precise chipset remains under wraps, there are strong indications that it could be the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Additionally, the device is likely to operate on NothingOS 3.1, based on Android 15, complemented by the distinctive Glyph Interface.

Regarding the camera setup, we anticipate a versatile triple-camera configuration consisting of a main 50-megapixel sensor, accompanied by another 50-megapixel telephoto lens offering 2x optical zoom, along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the front side, users can look forward to a 32-megapixel selfie camera capable of capturing high-resolution images. To power all these features, the device is expected to be equipped with a robust 5,000mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging, echoing the specifications found in its predecessor.
