At the recent Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, a variety of updates were unveiled, enhancing Gemini’s functionality and accessibility on Android devices. These improvements focus on enriching user interactions with Gemini, seamlessly integrating the assistant into everyday activities.
One of the standout updates is the newly introduced capacity to integrate images, files, and YouTube videos through Gemini Live. This innovative feature allows users to enhance their conversations by including visual and multimedia content. It transforms the dialogue into a more vibrant experience, making it easier for users to articulate and discuss their tasks with richer context.
Currently, this feature is being deployed on Samsung Galaxy S24 series and S25 series devices, in addition to Pixel 9 smartphones. Further support for additional Android devices is expected to be rolled out in the forthcoming weeks. Moreover, capabilities such as screen sharing and live video streaming—elements of Project Astra—will be introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Gemini’s mobile application later this year.
