ToggleSamsung, the South Korean electronics powerhouse, is gearing up for its annual Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for 2025. During this much-anticipated gathering, the company is expected to unveil its latest Galaxy S25 series, which has consistently included three primary smartphones: the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the top-tier model, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This year, however, there are rumors of an exciting new variant joining the lineup—the Galaxy S25 Slim. Initial reports indicate that this slimmer model will be positioned in terms of pricing between the S25+ and S25 Ultra, focusing primarily on its ultra-sleek design as its unique selling proposition.
The Galaxy S25 Slim is anticipated to compete directly with the rumored iPhone 17 Air, boasting a remarkable thickness of merely 6.5mm. If it launches on January 22, it could potentially be hailed as the thinnest smartphone available in the market. Although no official visual representations or leaks have surfaced yet, insiders claim the S25 Slim will feature a unique design that may serve as a model for Samsung’s flagship lineup in 2026.
Despite its ultra-slim profile, the Galaxy S25 Slim is poised to incorporate state-of-the-art hardware components. It is expected to sport a 6.66-inch display, mirroring the specifications of the S25+. On the performance side, the device might be equipped with the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, ensuring seamless operation and impressive processing power. Given its sleek design, the battery capacity is speculated to range between 4,700mAh and 5,000mAh, striking a balance between battery life and form factor.
Photographic enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the camera configuration is likely to resemble that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. There are indications that the S25 Slim could inherit the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP5 sensor found in the Ultra model. In addition, it may include complementary 50-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto lenses. The telephoto camera is also rumored to feature 3.5x optical zoom, utilizing Samsung’s innovative All Lenses on Prism (ALoP) technology, designed especially for compact devices.
In terms of pricing, it is anticipated that the Galaxy S25 Slim will be positioned above the cost of the S25+, yet below the premium price of the Ultra variant. An official announcement regarding the price and availability of the device is likely to occur during the Unpacked event on January 22.
